When Chris first reached out about proposing to Ivy on a sailboat in Galveston, TX, I knew this session was going to be something special—and hilariously tricky! To keep the sailboat proposal a surprise, Chris and I brainstormed a way for me to blend in. We decided I would pose as a crew member on the boat. They even gave me a shirt to complete the look!

Now, full disclosure: I am not the world’s best liar. So when Chris casually asked how long I’d been working there, I completely panicked and stumbled through an answer. (Let’s just say the “seasoned sailor” act wasn’t my strongest performance!) Thankfully, Ivy was so swept up in the day that she didn’t seem to catch on—or maybe she was already onto us, who knows?

A Sunshine Filled Sailboat Proposal in Texas

The day was nothing short of magical. Once we were out on the water, the captain turned to me and asked how I wanted the boat positioned! This was a surreal moment for someone with zero nautical experience! After carefully setting up the perfect scene, Chris led Ivy to the front of the sailboat. With the sparkling open water as their backdrop, he got down on one knee and asked the question that would change their lives forever.

Ivy’s reaction was unforgettable! Pure joy mixed with tears and laughter, a beautiful blend of emotions that perfectly captured the magic of the moment. It was a proposal straight out of a dream, made even more special by the warm glow of the Texas sun and the peaceful rhythm of the waves.

But Chris wasn’t done just yet. After their breathtaking sailboat proposal, he surprised Ivy with a celebration at a nearby beach house, where all their closest friends and family were waiting to share in the joy. The love, excitement, and heartfelt toasts made the day truly perfect from start to finish.
