Madeleine and Evan threw the best party at the Orpheum Theater! This was genuinely one of the most fun I’ve had at a wedding, usually when the reception is done I’m beat, but I could have kept going another hour with this one! Evan is in a band so he performed along with the bride’s dad and the priest that married them, so how could I not have a good time with a group like that?!
I met Madeleine at her childhood home for getting ready photos. We ended up taking them with her two MOH’s in her childhood bedroom which was so special! Then we had her first look with her friends and family as she walked down the stairs. I loved the way that Madeleine styled herself, she looked just like Priscilla Presley when she was standing at her trendy but retro wedding cake.
As soon as we got to the reception, the party started. When the couple made their entrance they went right into their first dance. After that was the father daughter dance which finished off with Lizzo’s, It’s About Damn Time. During that song they called for all the father daughters to come on the dance floor and dance with them which was so sweet! Then the mother of the groom and Evan danced to “Hit the Road Jack” which will go down as the funniest mother son dance ever lol.
One of my favorite details was that Madeleine and Evan had their engagement photos printed and put on the outside of the theater so they were listed as the featured entertainment. SO FUN! In between dancing we had a charm pull for the bridesmaids AND the groomsmen. THe grooms cake was so fun with so many references to New Orleans, along with a figurine of Madeleine’s 16 year old shih tzu.
Right as Evan went on stage, he was tuning the guitarists guitar when the guitarist went on the mic and said “I love this guitar, but I think we need to get something better.” Then Madeleiene walks out with a brand new white guitar for him and he was in shock! So fun for all of us.
It was a dance party for the rest of the night. Then they finished off their big day by having an after party in the bar downstairs called the Double Dealer. I had never been but it was so neat!!
This was such a fun wedding to be apart of, I had a blast!
