This session was such a pleasure for me! I’m so excited to share Macie and Parker’s engagement session in New Orleans! Macie and I have known each other for about six years now. She was one of my good friend’s maid of honor and we spent a lot of time together during that wedding and bachelorette trip (which was coincidentally also in New Orleans!)
Macie and Parker are the kind of relationship that’s been together since high school. The kind of relationship that wasn’t a matter of if, but when. So when I saw on social media they were engaged, I was thrilled for them, but not shocked in the slightest! Our mutual friend told Macie I was a photographer and the rest was history!
Right around the time Macie and Parker booked me as their wedding photographer for their Greece destination wedding, I was still living in New Orleans but my car had just gotten stolen. I knew that New Orleans wasn’t my forever home so it was around this time that I decided to move to Houston. Macie and Parker had decided they wanted to use engagement photos as an excuse to come to New Orleans, and then I turn around and move away lol.
So we made it work and they came in on a weekend that I was going to be shooting another wedding in New Orleans! We started with Parker trying his first beignet ever at the Cafe Du Monde in City Park. Then Macie and Parker changed into their nicer clothes and we got pictures with the sunset hitting the spanish moss on the trees.
Our final pictures were going to be in front of the art museum at night, but there was an event going on that I didn’t know about so we had to pivot! I was a little worried but I ended up deciding on an open field, using direct flash and making it look like it’s just them two up against a pitch black background. I think they ended up looking SO COOL.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to contain my excitement for Macie and Parker’s wedding in Mykonos!! It’s going to be one of the top highlights of my 2024.
