Wedding | Ashley + Chris
Ashley and Chris had an intimate destination wedding at the Goodstone Inn & Restaurant in Middleburg, Virginia. It was so exciting to be able to travel to a new destination and explore this stunning venue alongside the best couple ever! Not to mention that there were only 16 guests in attendance, it was such a privilege to be apart of such a small group.
Ashley and Chris got married up against a wall covered with sprawling greenery that was doused with gorgeous flowers. Then they had a cocktail hour and an intimate dinner at a table with a table scape of my dreams.
While everyone was chatting, there was a guitar player adding to the ambience. As we were waiting for dinner, Ashley and Chris decided to do their first dances. Kelsey‘s husband who is a saxophone player, grabbed his sax and started playing with the guitar player during the father daughter dance. It’s moments like that, that I appreciate so much about intimate weddings.
I loved how intimate this group was, and it really seemed like Ashley and Chris were able to connect with everyone who came out to support and celebrate them. These are the kind of moments I think can go missing in some larger ceremonies. I love being able to travel to different venues like this, my creativity is just set on fire when I’m exploring a new location!
I had the absolute privilege to second shoot this wedding with Visual Society Weddings a.k.a. Kelsey, one of my good friends from New Orleans. Ashley is her best friend and they were so kind to let me join along for such a gorgeous day. I was able to travel to photograph this wedding and also visit some friends in DC all in the same trip!
It was seriously such an honor to be a part of such an intimate destination wedding in a gorgeous location like Middleburg, Virginia. I’ll be thinking about this day for such a long time!
